Thank you for a successful open house event
With over 2,000 guests, vendors and sponsors on hand, Global Motorsports Group (GMG) enjoyed a successful 2015 Open House to kickoff the beginning of spring as well as usher in the upcoming Pirelli World Challenge season.
“We always enjoy the opportunity to showcase everything about our company,” stated GMG team owner James Sofronas. “From when we began this company to now, we’ve enjoyed tremendous growth and I still find satisfaction in showing our guests the full scope of what we have to offer, as well as our many partners.”
Using the team’s 30,000 sq. ft. facility and lining street, the events on Saturday, February 28th heralded a number of exciting introductions:
New Livery Unveiled
With the 2015 Pirelli World Challenge GT season kicking off this weekend in Austin, the team utilized the opportunity to unveil their 2015 livery for Sofronas’ no. 14 Audi R8 LMS ultra. In conjunction with the team’s partners Spyder, The Thermal Club and Mobil 1, the vehicle features a striking deep blue livery with white highlights, a new interpretation of the team’s founding colors.
Additionally, the team also took the opportunity to announce their latest signing, IMSA standout Madison Snow, who will debut with the team this weekend as well.
Vendors in Support
Utilizing GMG’s strong fan base within the Southern California community, several vendors were on hand to demonstrate their products and services in front of a captive audience. Most notably, Pirelli North America had several giveaways as well as one of their trademark models on hand. Vendor showcases included BBS, Brembo, Fusion Brakes, GIAC, Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT), Car Ninja, and even the California Highway Patrol (full list below).
GMG Product Showcase
Additionally, GMG had several new product debuts, touting their heritage as one of the top tuning manufacturers in the county. Products ranged from a hand-built exhaust system for the Porsche 911 GT3 991, custom roll bars, as well as the GMG line of forged monoblock wheels. Guests were also able to view the first GMG track spec 991 GT3, displayed in the showroom.
Other noteworthy introductions included the debut of the all-new Lamborghini Huracán exhaust system.
Cars on Display
Of course no Open House would be complete without several exotic marques on display and the team failed to disappoint. Beyond the traditional exotics the showroom featured modified versions of the Audi R8, Porsche 911 GT3 991, Porsche Carrera GT, a 2016 Lamborghini Huracán with full GMG performance package, and more.
For vintage enthusiasts, the event also featured everything from a Lancia Delta Integrale to a Porsche 924 Carrera GTS to an Audi Sport Quattro.
A Place to Eat
Finally, the team’s reputation for bringing in some of Southern California’s finest food trucks continued, with brands including the Tri-Tip Man, The Flip Master, Mess Hall Canteen, and more.
Everyone at GMG would like to thank all of our friends, family and supporters through the years, and we look forward to everyone returning next year!
