GMG Mourns the Loss of Sergey Zherebnenko
It is with heavy sadness that Global Motorsports Group (GMG) announces the sudden passing of long-time technician Sergey Zherebnenko on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
A long-time member of the family and core staff member since 2011, Sergey was renowned for not only his depth of knowledge and skill with just about any machine that entered our building, but a special passion for Porsches as well as an incredible ability to bond and forge relationships with nearly everyone he met along the way.
At only 30-years old, he was one of the cornerstones of our organization, and his loss will be deeply felt for a long time to come. He was one of the best in the business, not only on the service side at GMG, but with an incredible passion about all aspects of our business and helping all of our clients. This was especially evident in watching his progression as a new tech when he first joined the team, to becoming more and more involved on the racing side of our program as the years went on, becoming a staple of our track day events due to his bond with many of our customers.
“It’s difficult to put Sergey’s loss in to words,” stated GMG president James Sofronas. “We pride ourselves on the character of our staff and the strong relationships with our customers that come with it, and Sergey was undeniably part of that core. Over the years he’d become an integral part of our entire organization, and on both a professional and personal level it’s a true loss for everyone here. Sergey was a true character and an absolute joy to work with, and as part of our family there will always be a place for him here. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to his wife Ashley and the rest of his family.”
The entire Global Motorsports Group sends our thoughts and prayers to the entire Zherebnenko family.
